Welcome to the Simcoe County Master Gardeners!
Have a gardening question?
We are dedicated and experienced gardeners who enjoy volunteering our time, knowledge and expertise by providing information and advice to the general public. We have diverse horticulture backgrounds and love to share our passion for gardening with the communities of Blue Mountain, Collingwood, Stayner and Creemore, Wasaga Beach, across to Elmvale, Midland, Washago, Orillia, Barrie, Innisfil, Alliston, Bradford and Tottenham, and all points in-between.
We participate in a range of community events that provide many opportunities for us to help home gardeners gather information, educate themselves on current gardening practices, and inspire those who wish to give gardening a try. Our aim is to de-mystify the science and skills needed to garden effectively, by instilling the confidence needed to grow plants for enjoyment. We do this in many ways: through free advice clinics at local farmer’s markets, answering questions through our website or Facebook group, gardening talks and seminars, presentations and demonstrations. Come to any of our listed events to have your questions answered, or email us if you’d like us to participate in an event you are planning.

Simcoe County Master Gardeners meet 8 times a year on the third Tuesday of the month. We meet in person April, May, June and September at 1170 ON-26, Midhurst, ON L9X 1N6 and via Zoom February, March, October and November, when we share knowledge, seeds and plants within the group as well as learn from guest speakers. We also visit gardens, nurseries, and occasionally organize horticulture field trips.
We are associated with The Master Gardeners of Ontario. The Master Gardeners of Ontario is a volunteer organization, comprised of horticultural experts, committed to our own continued learning. All Master Gardeners must provide at least 30 hours of volunteer horticultural service per year, as well as continuing to upgrade his or her skills through technical training every year.
Simcoe County Master Gardeners are always looking for new members: people who want to learn more about gardening and enjoy exploring with like-minded people, and we welcome anyone who is interested in volunteering with us.
Anyone can enjoy their own garden, whether it’s a single container on a balcony, a sweeping perennial bed, or a vegetable plot. We want to help you! All you have to do is ask.
